Speaking at Hondoq ir-Rummien, Gozo’s last remaining bay in its pristine, natural state, Labour leader, Dr Alfred Sant, said that the opposition of the residents to the proposed project is justified. MEPA has granted permission to develop the site into a marina with accompanying hotel, tourist village and residential area of apartments, bungalows and villas and this will ruin the place once and for all. This is why the residents must be supported by all Maltese and Gozitans said Dr Sant who visited Hondoq ir-Rummien accompanied by deputy leader Dr Michael Falzon, Gozo MPs Dr Anton Refalo and Dr Justyne Caruana, Labour general secretary Jason Micallef, candidate Joe Cordina, and other Labour activists.
