Published on The Malta Independent on 15th October, 2006.

Labour leader Alfred Sant yesterday committed his party against the proposed Hondoq ir-Rummien development project in Gozo.

Visiting the site, Dr Sant blamed the PN government for the project, which will include the building of villas, luxury apartments, a hotel and a yacht marina. He termed it as base speculation on one of the most beautiful sites in Gozo, adding the area has huge tourist potential and could offer better quality facilities for the recreation of all Gozitans, as well as Maltese and tourists.

Dr Sant also met Gozo residents who are against the project among whom Paul Buttigieg and Fr Lawrence Theuma.
