Besieged by trucks

My wife and I are strongly against the planned Ħondoq ir-Rummien project. Not only does it lack the consent of the Qala village residents, as the referendum in 2002 showed, but it will harm nature and spoil the use of the beach.
Not to mention the traffic chaos that will be created by heavy lorries passing through the village.
Living in Triq is-Salib, we will be subject to much more dust, dirt and exhaust than we already are from the trucks constantly driving through our tiny street from the quarry, even on public holidays. Besides, they drive dangerously.
On some days we count as many as 12 passing by every hour! Stones fall onto the street and they even "lose" cement which ends up in front of our house.
We do hope that this Ħondoq project will never come about.
